Education is a particularly important concern for the company’s extensive CSR programme as it’s the future for our great nation and lays the roots for the country’s continued prosperity and economic growth,” said Zainab Mohammed, CEO, Property Management, Marketing and Chairwoman of the CSR Committee at wasl. “To this end, we were delighted to be able to support the College of Islamic & Arabic Studies.” she added.

Delegates from wasl toured the library to check its contents, the delegation included Abdulla Ishaq - Head of Leasing & Customer Service Department, Amer Abdul Hamid Ahmad - Branch Manager at Muhaisna Branch, Alia Bin Ghelita - Head of Accounts & Compliance and Asma Ali - Senior Manager - Media & Research, Marketing & Corporate Communications at wasl who were attended by Dr Mohammad Abdul Rahman – CIAS Director and Dr Abdul Rahman Hafazaldeen – Dean of Student Affairs at CIAS.

When the College of Islamic & Arabic Studies was approached by wasl and asked what they would like to receive as a backing, the college’s directors identified technological support in the library as the area that would benefit the institute the most. The 15 laptops will be installed in the establishment’s quiet learning area to support students with their private study when using the facility.

The College of Islamic and Arabic Studies is a charitable educational institution that works in higher studies, it was established in 1986. The college’s library consists of about 70,000 references that range between encyclopaedias, books, periodicals and compact discs and serves more than 3500 students.

“The college that received our support as part of wasl’s most recent CSR initiative is a vital educational establishment that does a marvellous job in serving the local and international communities. We are extremely pleased that the laptops we have given to the College of Islamic & Arabic Studies will be used to advance knowledge about the culture and identity of the region.” added Ms. Mohammed.
