Wasl understands serving communities requires time and resources.

1. Education

The UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, has once said that the real asset of any advanced nation is its people, especially the educated ones. We at Wasl, believe that it is critical that all individuals have the opportunity to reach their full potential and create their own futures.

In partnership with the American University in Dubai (AUD), Wasl sponsors 10 full scholarships.

Two initiatives that are tailored for the induction and development of UAE nationals are Ajial, a programme for high school graduates and the Graduate Training Programme (GTP). GTP is a programme for university graduates identified as having high growth potential. Both six-month programmes are open to UAE nationals and existing Wasl employees. These programmes aim to support further education if required, enhance leadership skills and provides extensive mentoring and coaching.

2. Jobs and Growth

Wasl works with different partners in the community and government to develop programmes that offer skills training to help people as well as local Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) to be competitive and prepared for today’s challenges.

We have business dealings with 26 SMEs and offer consultancy services to another 20 entities. Wasl also offers 20 per cent discount on commercial real estate to SMEs.

Wasl’s keen intent to support the development of SME in Dubai was recognised in 2010 when it was awarded the Best Semi Government Entity Supporting Government Procurement Program under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development.

3. Non-profit organisation

With the full support and encouragement of the Company, Wasl employees are actively involved as volunteers in a number of charitable organisations and projects. Individually and as part of Company-sponsored efforts, many give generously of their time and resources.
